To be honest I didn't like it at all. Some parts were funny, true, and the general story was interesting, but poor acting and some absurdities were introduced in the plot that just made me want to leave the theatre: the final fight was the most ridiculous part of the movie. Seriously, imitating the lady with the snake so as to "hypnotize" his opponent... and I thought his leg was hurt, but as soon as the fight was ended he started walking normally again...
Hehe very true. But hey the Westerners don't know anything about martial arts so keep it a secret
Lol.
I haven't watched it yet so I can't say much. All I can say though, is that the original must be way better. Also, why can't it be The Kung Fu Kid? He doesn't learn karate, he doesn't go to Japan. As soon as I saw the trailer, that was the first thing to pop up in my mind.
It wasn't bad at all, honestly. The last kick was pretty impossible, but cmon, it was a fulfilling triumph. My family felt kinda douchey because we were like the only people that didn't give it a standing ovation in the theater.
I do wish they said Miyagi instead of Han, but meh. It doesn't matter too much. Chan wasn't . . . awful in the role, and Jaden, in my opinion, was on par with the actor for the original karate kid, who I'm not personally a fan of.
It wasn't super-awesome x5, but they did a surprisingly good job with it. I wouldn't be bummed to have to see it again . . . I mean come on, it's a feelgood movie. Jaden makes a fairly good karate kid, though much different from the original. It's one of the most deviating remakes I've ever seen.
