Without a doubt the older games. Also you have to realize that the challenging games are being geared toward even younger audiences now as well. Also take into account the fact that you were younger when those older games were out, so what may have seemed difficult then may not seem so difficult now as well.
The old are way harder than the new ones! Who here has ever completed the traditional and well known Mario game?
I got to world 6, not sure, when I was about 7. It was Mario Bros. Classic for the Gameboy. I hated Lakitu, that flying guy on the cloud. I quit playing cause of that guy, and haven't played since. I should probably try again. >_>
i only did the first world xP
I beat the original Spyro trilogy when I was 9. I loved that game. I try playing it now, and the magic the game once had is gone. It's not as fun.
Mario was great. I was a kid when the first NES came out and I got it that Christmas. I wasted hours of my childhood on that game. It was definitely challenging, but after you've beaten it repeatedly it does lose some of it's charm. Once you get the levels figured out it's quite simple. Although I must say, it is a very long game, especially considering the limited amount of memory space available on those early cartridges.
weel, old games are harder, because of the grapichs and tha bed gameplay, and remember one fact too is the controls (the ones you hold so you could play) in nintendo, the control is a quite hard to understand, and the joystick, nothing to say
Older games often seemed to be designed purely to be frustrating. I think that with a lack of graphics and memory with which to tell a good story, difficulty was all those games had. With games nowadays, making them insanely difficult would just get in the way of really playing it, if that makes sense.
I also always thought it was funny that old controllers were made to be strong enough to survive being thrown against a wall.
