Nintendo might do this again they might add new features and create new 3DS(s) like they did to the DS
Before buying THINK and if necessary wait until they make a new 3DS
The question is... Do you think that nintendo will create more 3DS(s) like maybe 3DS lite or 3DSi?

@ gtfawjkjg

Maybe YOU are the one that should read

"The Nintendo 3DS is an upcoming portable game console by Nintendo, which can produce "3D effects without the need for any special glasses," a process called autostereoscopy. Scheduled for a Japanese, North American and European release in the fiscal year ending March 31st 2011, the portable will succeed the Nintendo DS series of handhelds, which primarily shares the handheld console market with Sony's PSP (PlayStation Portable). The Nintendo 3DS will feature backward compatibility with Nintendo DS series software, including Nintendo DSi software.

It's a not a new DS with a gimmick, it's their next generation and comes fully equipped with all the features of the DSi plus more.

I think that what gtfawjkjg meant is that as 3D games won't probably be compatible with DS we'll have to buy it to get the latest games. He even made an example with what happened with DS & DSlite, and how Nintendo laughed on the original users.
What you are saying is that DS games will be playable in the 3DS, which is logical.
Oh, and I hadn't payed that much attention to your previous post... Let's see what they're up to in May 2011
I think WE ALL should read

Does anyone even notice what I posted? Most of the time when I post something that has 50+ words they say something like, "I agree" or "You might be right". I don't care if you don't have anything positive to say. If you spent time writing something like that, wouldn't you want someone to reply? Even if someone had said something bad wouldn't it be a bit better than no reply?

Yeah i agree with ur post b4 this just didnt find it in time xD

I like the idea of the improved amount of memory in the cartridges.

Eurogamer announced that a company stated that the 3DS would support entire game installs to internal memory which would make carrying around game cartridges a thing of the past.

They are probably making 3DS because there will be new DS games that only work on the 3DS.

I think that's obvious. If you made games that make use of newer technologies and hardware used in the 3DS, you'd either have to make it "uncompatible" with previous DSs or produce two sets of graphics and possibly gameplay mechanisms for it to run.

(I estimated that 3DS will cost between $170-300)

Some French(?) firms estimated it at around $150 as far as I know. Of course, that's only a rough estimate, but I don't think you'd see anything like $300 for a Nintendo handheld. Remember, a large portion of Nintendo's target audience is younger generation with games like Mario appealing to even toddlers, so you can't put the price too high or else you'll suffer major losses.

Lol DS's are going 3D now? They are going Large and now 3D? Wow are Nintendo getting desperate?

Imagine a gaming computer. You can have very small tweaks, maybe you'll buy a SteelSeries mouse mat, or a Razer gaming mouse - these are all very little tweaks. Nintendo is pretty evil in this sense, it will make little tweaks, but they're big enough to make you go: "Oooh, shiny, I need one of them."

Then say I strip out the machine and get myself a nice Nvidea GeForce 280, a 4GHz six-core processor and a few gigs of RAM, this is a much bigger upgrade. The others were nice extras, but weren't huge differences just like the DS XL. They weren't important but I knew I wanted them. The entire hardware upgrade was something much bigger, just like the 3DS, I have all sorts of new capabilities and suddenly my computer is more powerful than any of those smaller upgrades could have done.

You see? Their movements like the XL all seemed very desperate, but the 3DS? No. That's pushing handheld technology.

Where have you people been the last 20 years? Let's look at the facts:

*Generation 1*
Gameboy
Gameboy Pocket
Gameboy Light
Gameboy Color

*Generation 2*
Gameboy Advanced
Gameboy Advanced SP
Gameboy Advanced Micro

*Generation 3*
Nintendo DS
Nintendo DS Lite
Nintendo DSi
Nintendo DSiXL

*Generation 4*
Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo releasing a new generation of systems is not a bad thing. And Nintendo has released minor upgrades since the begging.

It's nothing new. Why complain about the 3DS because of it. You should have been yelling at the DSi
