Sperm cells only carry the instructions (genes) that increase the likelihood of such defects/disabilities to occur. They aren't retarded. They still "win" (kind of) when they reach the ovum and fertilize it.

At least um..... the sperm cell that he partially originated from won the er... fertilization race. Though honestly not surviving birth is a very unfortunate and painful thing indeed. I guess he really is a loser sadly.
