ya id consider rise against a form of 21'st century punk. a little more of a rock punk then a pure punk but still punk either way

It's punk all the way. It's indeed modern punk (rock), but it's still punk!

I listen to punk quite much, but my favorites would be Senses fail (emo/screamo/punk), Rise against, Anti Flag, Face to Face, NOFX and Story of the year.

Me too, they have a great rhythm and a great melody feeling. You can hear so in their songs. You should try from first to last or Story of the year.
