I believe ghosts are, for my girlfriend and I have both had experiences of our own with them (I was at my dad's house and in the span of about 2 days saw an image of a guy at three different locations of the house. And while trying to go to sleep one night I spun over to lay on my right side and while I did so I saw 5 images: 2 to the left of my bed, one at the foot of my bed, one leaning against my fan at the end of my room, and one next to me on the right side of my bed)
I have had multiple ghost experiences, though somewhat scattered.
One was at a supposedly 'Haunted' jail. Just to try it out, we went on an assumed 'normal' ghost hunt as advertised in the paper. So we met up at a restaurant in-town, and then we realized: these guys were serious, they had all this fancy equipment! We immediately drove about 30 minutes to a graveyard, and i got the heatspot-detector, which basically sensed any cold or hot spots in the air wherever i pointed it. I did find 2 10-degree below normal spots, but other than that nothing happened. So then we went to the Jail in a nearby city. It had been turned into a haunted house, but none of the structure or original equipment had been destroyed. After waiting for an hour or so for the jail to close due to a faulty word-of-mouth closing time, we finally got to go in. It was very dark. After splitting into teams, we decided to camp out near the cell area. Not long after, right down in the corridor all of us saw a shadow pass across the doorway. There was nobody in the building( had been checked beforehand), and the side we saw the shadow go into was a wall! After that we heard abot the supposed ghost of the cave, a man named Charles Butler. He was arrested for literally shotgunning his wife and kid.... He was also hanged from the epicly large tree outside, now trimmed to a tall tall stump. We went into the costume room (where all the workers dressed up), and got out one of those crystal things on a string. We each took turns talking to the crystal, and it STARTED SWAYING! the Person who i suppose he liked the most( one carrying crystal), asked it to start going counterclockwise instead of clockwise, and it did. Then somebody cracked a joke about dropping the soap or something, and no joke, it stopped swaying completely. Apparently we really pissed him off, because after that we couldn't get him to move the crystal anymore....
I also had an experience on a late night in summer of last year (2009), and i swear i saw a ghost standing in my doorway....
