Doesnt have to be into upper atmosphere. Just the science of making rockets and calculating the speed velocity to the weight and stuff. Lots of physics get involved
Aeronautical engineering is one of the most boring engineering fields. Too many numbers involved, not enough crashing things. Although when you get to testing it's pure win.

Now that's boring. Crashing things, blowing them up, purposely making wires faulty, that's fun.
You are never gonna use math unless you get a boring job, which will make it boring-er.
