Simple, if you have tattoos post a picture, if you want a tattoo, post a picture, if you hate them, explain why.

If you want to add the meaning of your tattoos, if they are not to personal, please do. It's always a wonderful thing to see the reason behind these works of art.

Open for all SERIOUS views and opinions, as much as you can expect on the average internet forum mind you.

I have two myself, one with my sisters name in floral patterns either side, on my back right under my neck with a star.

This was my first one, i kept it small simple, incase for any reason i regretted it at least it was hidden aswell. Just to be safe.

The other being the English rose with Mum & Dad surrounding it.

Got both of these done when i was 15/16, Laws in Cyprus are totally different, so i got away with them at a younger age, to this date i don't regret either of them.

I am planning on getting a Koi Dragon, one of the nicest tattoo's i've seen, with the meaning in japan that once a Koi reaches the top of the waterfall, they transform in to a dragon.

The resemblance of the Koi Dragon, is the head is a Dragon, half way through transformation, put that in to a realistic point of view, it shows your transformation through life, your half way there. Keeping it short, i myself have moved between 8 different homes, 2 countries, started up 3 different businesses since i was 14, and i'm finally beginning to settle down, with a family a home a restaurant, and the Koi Dragon surrounded by cherry blossoms would be perfect. Cherry blossoms, one for every person who has been there for me and means everything to me. I have an example of it here:

The picture will be in black and white, with nice shading and the cherry blossoms in a very light peach, gone over in a white to wash them out a bit more. Just to add a focal to the meaning why they are there aswell.

The dragon i've got designed at the parlor will take over 80 hours to complete and cost me over 1500 euros. O_O Robbing sons of B*****.

After that tattoo, i will be merging an eagle shrouding my sisters name, for more personal reasons tho, it will get rid of the floral pattern tho O_O D:

Anyone else want to share?

Personally while I think tattoo's look amazing, having permanent identifying marks on me is not something I go for. I think about things like that in the long term. i.e. when I'm 60 and that dragon on my back has turned into some kind of faded blob. Lasering them off works, but leaves huge white mark.

Aye, all that did cross my mind when i started becoming an addict to them, and i am going to be honest here, i swear they are injecting some kind of nicotine which gets you addicted to them, fer real i just want more and more, but i know people, certainly my step grandfather, he gets them re-inked every 10 years, and he's on his way to 70 next year. His tattoos are for his brothers, who passed so cruel and before their time, so he wants them to stand out more.

Laser them off, and put on fake tan instead?

I've been considering getting one for a while. Just don't know yet. Would possibly be better off just doing some body painting on occasions, but I do quite like the design I made...

There's some names of a few someones who mean a lot to me wrapped into the lines (with letters of my own creation - a full alphabet I can read and write, but most others can't). And dragons are wuv.

Eh, I don't plan on getting tattoos but I appreciate their aesthetic, sentimental and cultural values.

Also, another AG user made a thread about tattoos a few weeks ago. Zootsuit_riot?

@ Kyouzou, Lol, i meant a fake tan all over your body, silly :P

@ Sensanaty, that sounds very beautiful, colors are amazing when done correctly.

I got Chris Garver to do part of the Outline on my rose when i got it done, he was visiting a friend at the parlor here, best day of my life, his drawings and his coloring are the best ever, better than Ed Hardy, although thats down to personal preference.

The phoenix is a beautiful creature, and has so much meaning in the tattoo originally, to do with rebirth, many ex-prisoners get one done to show a second chance in life, a rebirth.

So your people are willingly stand there, being injected thousand of times, and end up having something changed on you.
Why don't you go to the dentist then?
It's probably quicker, but the pain is sure.

No. If that was the case we'd all be banned by now and the forums would be dead. xD

Idea for a tattoo? Just say it, tattoo is art, and art cannot be judged as we all have an interpretation of it, different from one another.

Lol, no, and if people started using my design I'd actually get pretty pissed off. :P

People don't do it for the pain, they do it for the modification. Most people, anyway, there may be masochists out there who do it for the pain. Would be silly, though.
