Christian...Heavy...Metal Band? ... What the F*ck?!? That's an oxymoron.
Haha exactly what I was thinking xD I mean, when you think of heavy metal it's screaming about hell and death, don't tell me people are screaming about jesus to loud thrashing guitars. However, I don't know what they really talk about in their music as I am not christian...
Skillet! Most def! I saw them in concert and they were amazing. They also did some preaching, a short amount but enough. Their lyrics are also hit close to home in some of their songs
but I've never heard a metal song about John 3:16 or a metal version of "Jesus Loves Me".
I only know one song as of now that is very very distinctly Christian. It is "How Great Thou Art" by Becoming the Archetype. But otherwise, lots of different Christian metal bands do usually say Jesus or God in the lyrics, and the message is usually about going against sin, and believing in Jesus. But otherwise you are right.
Somehow 'Christian' and 'Heavy Metal' don't mix, but some of the bands I know about having a christian background are Stryper (allthough they are actually an 80's HardRock band), P.O.D. and PillaR. =D
