Not a bad parrot to start with, though I prefer cockatiels more. If you need advice on caring for them I can help you out.
Just a tip don't just feed them bird seed. Pellet food is much healthier, though more expensive. Make sure to give them healthy treats like broccoli and green beans. Regular plain Cheerios, potatoes, and plain pasta are a good treats from time to time as well. Avoid feeding asparagus, avocado, sugar, chocolate, and salt.
Birds don't have a way to filter the air like we do. so contaminants int the air like cigarette smoke can harm them. Rule of thumb about cleaning "if you can smell the cleaner, it can likely harm your bird", this is true for most chemical cleaners. A one for one mix of vinegar and water is safe to use for disinfecting a cage, remember to wash it off with plain water before putting the bird back. Also avoid using nonstick cookware around the bird. If it burns they can emit a fume that can kill your bird in seconds. So if you must use this cookware bird goes in the far room from the kitchen with the door closed.
I say fatten him up then put him on the barbecue. I hear parakeets are tasty.
Yea, =p before it runs away!
I don't like birds, all types, and I really don't see the point in having one as a pet, my cousin's ones flew away about two years ago, he just got a dog like me! =p
