I just got curious on the avg gpa (grade point average) of the standard armor gamer. If you don't know your gpa just say your grades. Ex. A A A B B B. which would your gpa would be a 3.5
NOTE: If you view this thread you might as well get the one ap and answer the question... besides for this to be an accurate test i need at least 50 answers. Thanks for posting
Thought that was obvious. Guess not. I'll try harder next time.
I dislike the idea of weighted GPA's. I understand the point is to compensate for the difficulty of more advanced classes, but the fact that there are so many different systems for it just makes comparing academic merit more difficult.

Most colleges simply look at the unweighted GPA, and considering how many kids come in with 4.0/4.8 in the end it's really extracurricular that bring the colleges' attention to you. Or the amount of money your parents dish out,

The words we say (or type) are only 20% of the point we're trying to get across, with that in mind sarcasm is a bit hard to tell on the internet.

In general top tier colleges look at your unweighted GPA; the purpose of weighting is establish a more accurate class rank in one specific school.
Maybe what I'm trying to get at is there should be a national standard for weighted GPA as well as unweighted. Unweighted should take priority for student comparisons, scholarships, and college selection, but weighted should be used for in-school rankings and such. Seems unfair to me that some schools use a weighting system while others don't. My high school did, but the town over didn't, and some of the smarter kids with more difficult classes ranked underneath those who just got straight A's in the easiest things they could take. When colleges look at class rank, it gives those in schools with weighting systems an advantage. So either get rid of it for all schools, or put it in all schools. Preferably the latter.
As for your other points I'm fairly sure that most colleges, scholarship, etc. look at unweighted GPAs so all in all it's fair.
This is true in everything I've encountered, if they do ask for weighted it's usually in addition to the unweighted. A lot of colleges stress the importance of class rank too, at least the one's I applied to.
Out of curiosity then what's your rank? I'm third which isn't great but I'm in the top 3% which seems like the golden number for all but the top tier one schools.
