Seriously? your advertising mortages and loans on a game site that mainly ONLY KIDS play on...come on, at least advertise something that KIDS will click on not an ad for a loan.
Well, google or whoever controls the ads selects them by using keywords found in - say - a forum topic. Perhaps you were in that 'money and debt' thread when you saw that? I was in the Christianity vs. Atheism thread and all I got were ads about Jesus.
Some of the ads are controlled by google, some are just sponsorships, if everybody knew how much money it took to keep this site running their wouldn't be all these threads complaining abou tthe ads.
Good point. Sites, probably especially this one would cost lots o' greenbacks. Hosting a forum and all the games must take a lot of effort and time and web space.
But, the Ad Blockers are causing the pop-up ads and that on the site. This is a free sight so, the ads keep it running. So, they don't really help. I mean they could make us pay a monthly fee or something but they don't, ads are the main thing that give the sight money.
I can understand why they are frowned upon. Ad's keep a website up concertina one which is FREE. Although if they started a VIP section for people to pay to get VIP status, and special areas, special Armatars, i would Pay a lifetime fee, more so of a donation on my behalf than getting the extras.
VIP includes - No Ad's. Simple
Although you say AD's give this site money, i don't know too many people who click on them, not the same adverts. Sure it's a big way to earn money, but its a long period of time. Half the people here could still use Ad-Blocker, because half the people who use it, won't click on the ad's anyway.
AG doesn't have free control over its advertising. That is handled by third-party companies. Advertisements are area and browsing history specific.
Look, I have Vodafone NZ ads here.
Anyway, there are already a fair amount of game ads. Really does this have to be a problem? Many other sites have much more sketchier adverts, intrusive ones, laggier ones and sometimes explicit ones.
Just don't fret over what the ads are exactly unless they intrude or are explicit.
