Probably to brighten up the site a little bit, I'm guessing. Or at-least that's what they thought it would do. In my opinion these are incredibly boring.
Me too, just white shield over gradient colored background. I didn't expect for these kinds of armatars to appear.

The old blank got replaced because they found it ugly and found that it didn't fit in with other armatars in general, particularly in the new hoghscore tables. So yeah, they probably wanted something brighter and more colorful...

Well, all I know I woke up after accidentally falling asleep again and I have Graham telling me that a bunch of people are using these "new armatars" and that the old blank is gone.
I just think people got excited and all because they look new and attractive and others followed suit.
Probably only the most loyal people will hold on to these shields.Aftertime most people will move on but I promise as orange king I will hold on to maintain the orange shields.
No, there will never be a silhouette shield with background that will entice me to use it. Oh, and I loved the old one. It was a shield you know, a light grey one. As for declaring yourselves "kings" really do we need this? I better get serious about making that non-shield club.
