Sound Garden, Rage against the machine, Stone temple pilots, alice in chains, the toadies, Primus, red hot chillie peppers, NIN, temple of the dog, sublime, cake, foo fighters, Korn, Limp bizkit, filter, nirvana, white zombie, Bush, the beastie boys, cypress hill, metallica, and I thats about all the bands that I could think of off the top of my head that I loved in the 90's. There are way to many songs by all of these artists to list and choose from. I would also like to add that the music that is coming out today sounds like it was produced by the people from disneys mickey mouse club. What the hell happened to music?

So true, just to market to most tweeners and people who are still developing a musical taste. All for the money, discarding talent for autotune and many other instances.
Change the station to a "rock station" and all you'll hear is alternative/grunge. Why you're even listening to a pop station in the first place is completely beyond me...

You know that's all going to depend on where you live. Currently I live in Austin, the so called live music capitol of the world. Here our music stations consist of 1 rock station that plays mostly rush and ac/dc. 1 some rock mostly new modern rock, which I am dubbing "alternative Disney tunes", 5 country stations, 5 Latino stations, 4 r and b, 1 out of state oldies station which we just got, and 1 classical station. So Ernie15 I don't know where you live, but I miss the old 90's grunge, at least it had some soul, as appose to today's music which sounds a lot like they had to sell there soul to get it played on the radio. Perhaps we could switch city's.
No school like the old school and im the headmasta!
Great decade for hip hop. Way better than the noughties in my opinion. Cypres hill, dr dre, wu tang clan, biggie, eminem, house of pain and err, will smith and vanilla ice.
I agree woody, for me hip hop died with 90's. Though they kept it on life support for a few years. There just doesn't seem to be hardly any talent left in the mainstream music scene anymore. Much like the food we are served now a days, the majority of crap out there is just over processed, unintelligible, garbage. I remember a time when a rhyme actually used real words that weren't fabricated due to lack of intelligence and basic knowledge of the English language. Further more due to technological anti-wonders like the auto tuner. Which has simply massacred the potential for any song it touches. Any real talented singer can be tossed aside for the next prettier pop Disney alternative singer.
Wow, this is a tough question! There were so many bands that I still listen to form the 90's: Nirvana, Beck, Counting Crows, Radiohead, Oasis, Third Eye Blind, Jewel, Matchbox Twenty, Alice in Chains, Weezer, Live, Jamiroquai, Marcy Playground etc.
