Well, my DSlite is sorta acting odd, and it's broken for some reason. I've taken great care of it, never dropped it, etc, etc.. And suddenly, when I was holding it, the screen popped. It works, but at the same time, it's slightly broken. The left stereo is muted, but the right one works. The top screen is loose. That's about it. I can still play games with it, but its a huge inconvenience.
I need help. Should I get a DSi, DSi XL, or just wait for the 3DS all together? Also, I will most likely buy a DSi or DSi XL before the 3DS, and I'm just wondering what the benefits will be from the extra cash. I just want the forums opinion on this. I don't want to waste saved money. Is the DSi XL really worth the extra money, or should I just stick with DSi?

I'd say go for the 3DS. I wouldn't waste money on the same thing nor waste a tad extra for a larger screen. The 3DS will do so much more and be "all-the-rage" in regards to the handheld console market.
I'd recommend you should get a DSi. The DSi is cheaper. The DSi XL has very little changes and is way bigger. The DSi XL is heavier and harder to press the buttons. Therefore, get the DSi
btw, if you have a R4, then you have to reprogram the chip in order to play it on a DSi or a DSi XL. and i think if you reprogram it, you will lose all of your data as well.

Thank you guys. I think I'm going to wait for the 3DS, although, if you think you can convince me to buy a DSi, please do so. I won't buy the DSi XL though. Either DSi, or wait for the 3DS.
for all you haters, the dsixl was designed for people with bad eye sight or something wrong their hands and they cant press the buttongs without presssing another. I dunno if the 3ds will have a camera, and the features of the dsi(xl) buti'm still getting one. a 3d handheld gaming system. Also, they are making remakes of games for it. (ocarina of time, mario 64 i think) the ds original was upgraded to the ds lite for better picture, better quality. the dsi adds so much, its amazing. (downloadable games,a camera, the ability to download music.)
It will have 3 cameras, two on the backside (for 3D images) and one on the front side for interacting with the player you are playing with.

The Ocarina of Time remake is confirmed, although, I haven't heard of another Super Mario 64 remake. I doubt they'll do one. Paper Mario 4, however, will be on the 3DS.
