Like the name, What are you proud of? Have you done something that you are proud of. anything to everything what are you most proud of..
I am going to be a bit selfish but i am proud of what i have experienced. I lived in a village in Papua New Guinea in 2006 for 10 days learning about the culture, i flew an aircraft for something like 9-12 hours (i cant remember), i created some pieces of work for school that i am quite proud of mainly art pieces, i have recently conquered the Kokoda trail even when i injured myself badly i pushed on, and many other things but i deem not worthy to be posted
I was in the infantry, US Army SOG stationed at Ft. Lewis
cool.. i have always appealed to the armed services since i enjoy cadets so much.. i don't know if i want to join the air force or to go for a commercial pilots license. can you say what rank you had?
I was an E-5 when I left. I spent almost all of my career with the 1st Special Forces Group. After I left active duty I served for another year with the Army National Guard as an artillery crewman. Still contemplating going back, not sure yet though. It's a big debate because I want to but I have a family now and don't really know if I want to drag them all over the world. I may go to OCS since I have a degree and take a commission and try for a non-combatant assignment. Who knows.
Not sure how it is where you are from with flying, but in the US it's much easier to get a job as a commercial pilot if you have military experience.
im an Aussie... i have looked into it and its easier to get your commercial license through Jetstars new cadet ship but the lure of adventure and mateship with the armed forces is really tempting.
Do you have a military reserve? If it's easier to get it through the cadetship then I would take that route and then possibly look into military reserves or something like that. Also, as a commercial pilot you would get plenty of adventure as well, and you will have the mateship with your fellow pilots. Also becoming a military pilot is notoriously difficult regardless of what nation you are from. If you truly want to be a pilot I would pursue that first and then consider the military later, if at all.
thanks for the insight Matt.. i really appreciate it. another thing i am proud of.. i am proud of the things that the people i know have done... the friends that walked with me on the kokoda, the ones that struggled the most i am more proud of. my brother winning half a scholarship from my school. my father's past even though he hasn't done the things i have he has done things i wish i could of done or been able to do. and i am proud to be an Australian (srry bout the patriotism but everyone is proud to be who they are) with our little country enduring so many things... even at its young age
