So, I'm going to College next year and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good Mac RPG Games. For example Neverwinter Nights, etc. Please no WoW, I tried it and it was ok but I want something better and less addicting.
Try Dragon age rigins. It's a very immersive (what? that's not a word) story driven rpg. It has likable characters, easy to understand interface, gore, and of course: It's heavily modable. Tweaks to combat, character designs, new weapons that can make/break the game and many "other" ways to make the game enjoyable. If you really dedicate yourself to it can and will burn 100+ hours of your life, but not to the level of world of warcrack (30 fucking days for me) Hope this helped
hahaha backround story. I bought a mac because i'm going to be designing games for college. Mac's are easy to use (in my opinion) and I like the layout of things. I'll look up Dragon Age: Origins.
Ohhhhh, you're going to become a game designer?! Do you need to know anything before going into the course? Do you need to know anything beforehand, like a programming language? Or are they going to teach you it in the course you are taking? Wondering if I should start to heavily study c++
Well, depends. In my course I need to know very little in my junior year and that's it. I'm doing the Design part of Game Design. If you want to do the programing part of Game Design then yes. You will need to know C++.
Damn it! C++ is hard! But I guess it wont be too bad, hell I haven't even decided what i'm going to pick yet. It's either programming or what you're doing (designing the concept and feel of the game). Been doing research over what you can become in game development and I narrowed it down to those 2, but I still can't pick one yet. Or maybe it's possible to do both? Meh, I'll figure it out by the end of the year.
Hopefully we'll be in the same "recession proof" industry in the next few years. Good luck man.
haha yah thanks you too. Um, well you can learn programing too in the design part so you can do just as much as the Programming. I mean you can go into Design then when you get out just get into programming more and learn a lot of C++. You learn the basics in the design part. I need to find out some companies too. i know im just gonna start in the fall but i want to be prepared.
