Many sites have a module that doesn't let you post if the post if less then a certain number of words. It wouldn't be too hard for the coders to find a module like that and adapt it to AG. So basically what would happen is that you would be unable to post if there were less than seven words in your post.

I totally agree with this, just look at the topics in here, ads, ads2? that was way too much spam..

I always get annoyed by spamming, you should only post something when it's an adding to the topic i think!

but the only thing is, they could still spam, they could repeat a word 7 times and then just post it, so what would you do about that?

That would have to be talked about later, for now if we can limit on the amount of one words spam, I have a feeling a lot of the spam would be gone.

But I think in some forums it would be better not to do so, for example the "forum games" forum.

But sometimes posts under 7 words aren't spam.
Sometimes you can't explain yourself with more than 7 words.

So this has it's up and down sides.

I agree.

(See what I did there?)

If all I did was that, where my response was two words, I could still technically spam. Quoting someone else (or multiple people) can easily get rid of the issue of a minimum post length. There are ways to cheat a system of a minimum post length, unless the program recognised quoted text and did not include it as part of the post count.

Still, there are many different ways to say 'I agree' or 'yes' or what have you that's repetitive and you can get the post minimum. People are creative and there is no way a minimum word count will decrease spamming in threads.

Short spam is easier to spot. Until we get a more efficient way of getting the spam deleted, it's actually easier to handle it when it's so darn short.

Also, this has been suggested multiple times before, so, here, have a lock image:
