So um...This is an idea for the forum. The word count feature is simple...it counts how many words you have posted (on forum only?). In addition to that, you could also add an average words per post thing, which would be displayed under the forum posts and the word count. The idea of this is that it shows appreciation for the users whom tend to write more thought-out comments, or debate users. These user, due to their type of comments, would have a higher words/post ratio. While typical users whom only write small comments would...suffer . I'm hoping that this will raise appreciation for the users whom actually put some amount of effort into their posts, and encourage users to write more than 5+ words per post.
Another version of this could work for comments too. Those whom are on top of the leader boards, due to spam rating+ one word comments would have extremely low word/comment ratio. Therefore, it would work to help the mods find out whom has been comment spaming, and would provide as evidence.
Also, this could affect AP too. It could act as a multiplier. For example, if your ratio was between 1-7, your ap would be multiplied by 1.1; if it was between 7.1 and 20, your ap would be multiplied by 1.2, etc. ( rough ratio estimates )
so then all the ap hoarders would have encourgement toake better posts.
Yeah, well that people that actually make good posts are the users of this site that don't care about points. This would just make point hunger go up, and make stupid people say the same thing in much longer paraghraps that dont make sense. It would also increase lag a ton. Do you remember the last active feature, and the red and green thing that showed if you hwere online? Well those had to pull constant information. So therefore they caused lag. So they got the boot.
how about you just copy+paste your posts into ms word and feel good about yourself for typing a 300 word response on why you like bananas, or what your favorite kind of flesh-eating bacteria is on your own, rather than having the site tell you when you need to feel good about yourself.
I think spammers are just going to add more words to their comments without thinking if they make any sense.Besides if someone writes a good post using long words he's probably going to have a worst words/posts ratio than someone who writes a not so good post using short words.
I say what I like and dislike about a game in laconic manner, this is also due to my far-from-perfect English but not mainly. You're right about leader board, on the top of "Current leaders" section are always AP farmers.
Well, it could, possibly, in a way no one else knows, ok maybe five people, or one hundred, actually make that, possibly, in a way, that no one else knows, five hundred, work.
See what I mean?
That made no sense what so every yet it still looked like a decent post.
Now, take off the AP multiplier and you have an idea.
Therefore, it would work to help the mods find out whom has been comment spaming, and would provide as evidence.
I liked the idea until there: To evade this, people may write gibberish before they're posts, or write long, illogical ones. Also, lots of people have conversations that do require simple answers. Ex:
'Did you see soandso on yesterday?' 'Nope, but he online Monday'
OK, maybe you could turn that into a grammatically correct sentence, but...
I just can't see how this would help the mods, except to find extreme spammers, who would've been caught the old method (Searching through comments).

I don't like ideas that involve making more AP- It's just a sort of side thing on AG, not the whole point of being a user...
Since you all generally hate the multiplier idea, that may as well be scrapped. However most of you whom hve commented are, from my experience, those who don't care. What of the Bajillions of others who do care? It should be no surprise that someusers are only here because of AP. check those monthly leaders boards. Nowadays, those often 5+ people spam rating games.
Still, that idea wasn't the greatest now that I think about it. it was basically me saying " yeah! Let's give more ap to them people that don't give a...poop"
In fear of those whom like to write long comments and stuff an not say very much at a given time and stuff, you could just make it so that groupings of letters under 3-4 words do not count as actual 'words' ( if you used word count on ms word you know what I'm talking about) Maybe make it so that common words don't count? ( such as like, much, that, etc)

That would make the word count idea much more complex than it needs to be.
However, I like the idea of a word count as a whole. It may need to be adjusted depending on the forum. For example, what if you regularly post 2000 word stories in the literature section, or happen to frequent the Forum Games area and make lots of one word posts? The idea sounds great, but some things would have to be tweaked.
