I Just finished playing CastAway. Great game and I really hope there is a sequel. I just had a few suggestions if another one was going to be made.
1. The first, and probably most common, complaint was the anti-climatic ending. No really hard end boss, no reward, no closure really, just a message saying thank you for helping us. A strong ending would have brought closure to this really great game.
2. Second, attacks that miss. I leveled up to 30 before i activated the lava generator and decided it would be fun to finish every quest in the game. So i went back to glacial area where the monsters were around level 16. There were times when i would attack these beasts only to miss 2, 3 and 4 times in a row! I couldn't understand how i could miss them so frequently being that i was nearly twice the level they were. Perhaps a future game could address this problem.
3. Third, As with the "attacks that miss" problem. I found that monsters that were significantly lower level than me still posed quite a challenge. At the magma crater, the orge lords were around level 22 or 23 and i was fighting them with the best armor, best sword and ring of might equipped and i was level 28 or so and they still seemed to be challenging. It seems that if i am 4 or 5 levels higher than a monster I should be significantly stronger then they, but that did not seem like the case. A very simple solution would be to remove the monster levels all together and replace them with color coded names to indicate their difficulty to the player.
4. Finally, more content! I can understand how this being he first game wouldn't be packed full of content. However if a sequel is made i suggest adding side-quests, more gear to acquire and more spells. I know i definitely wanted to keep playing after i was done so pack the next game full of stuff that will keep us playing!
Overall though this game was VERY enjoyable, I really hope for a sequel!
