Whats with the low rating? People saying its to complicating though its all explained how to play? Look at these spam posts just cause most people on here hate American sports so they are taking out on this game.
It doesn't seem too bad, but... the rules aren't explained (I'm not American, never played this sport) and how exactly do you pass? And why do both teams go the same way?
i prefer Madden...
The only fail here is that this sport actually is called football in the US. FOOTball? FOOT? ONE guy kicks the ball then everyone use their HANDS to get to it, ****ing hell.
bad and gay
this isn't football, this is rugby for girls
soccer is the real football
thats american footbal which is crap the real fotbal is gaelic footbal!!!!!
Anybody tired of mostly British people or people that like soccer only basically ripping on football anytime they can. Most of the comments just say bad or some crummy spam post about how great soccer is. If your going to post something thats spam just don't post at all.
I just never understood why people put down other psorts just cause its American and cause its Football. I mean where was all this when Football was invented and super popular in the US? I beat Europe didn't care but then somebody did this comparison thing that sends everyone to compare sports to soccer?
The buttons are explained, but those plays aren't. To someone who never watches American football it is just confusing as hell.
And.... WikiAnswers xD
"Throughout history, people have played sports which involved using a ball and hands, feet, or sticks. Each area had its own rules. so there was no global definition of any sport.
In the 1300s, the king of England, Edward III, banned football, hockey, and handball. This shows a difference between sports using the feet, hands and sticks. So football was traditionally played using the feet and not the hands.
In 1863,at Cambridge University, a group of Englishmen formed the Football Association and invented the modern game of football.
After this event, many other "versions" of football were invented. Rugby and Australian rules were the first. In North America, rugby and football were both played, and a hybrid, American football, was invented. The first sport called football with global rules is football; other sports using the term football have words placed in front such as rugby, American or Aussie Rules (Australian) or Gaelic (Irish) to differentiate them from association football.
There remains only one football accepted by FIFA and the IOC."
So technically it's 'American Football league'.. But if you just put games on with 'Football league' You can half expect real football fans to click it and rate it down...
Clearly, folks who do not like or know American footy DO NOT like this game, and it's kinda understandable. I love it, officially addicted now. I am a U.S. footy fan and enjoy the play calling, but oddly i'm not a gamer in the least.. never play games of any kind - xbox, online games, etc. It's really hard and confusing even for NFL watchers, but it gets easier the more you play. And, it seems to have a glitch or two (players running involuntarily before the snap, and there is no rhyme or reason why you can boot a 40 yd FG, then miss a 10-yarder when they were executed exactly the same way).
For the record, I also love watching international football & like its history (Garincha, Eusebio, Man-U, We all live in a Georgie Best world, blah blah).
But yeah, if you don't know U.S. football, you would be lost quickly
