@xyodudex: actually, the robot would have broken apart its armor. Extreme freezing and near-instant heating will cause metal to break, especially at the temperatures Liquid Nitrogen and Plasma are at.
In fact, that's how the tank was destroyed in Complete the Objective.
I'm pretty sure Plasma without anything to contain it would just be Robot Skeleton Mecha X instead of Plasma X. If Plasma had any way to retain its own shape, then it wouldn't be plasma: It'd be a solid, and much less dangerous. Anything above solid level needs a container to retain its shape, or else it'll just go to default. The on;y way it could be a consistent plasma being is if was made out of high powered electromagnets. Plus, Plasma would rapidly cool down into a gas or liquid unless we were battling on the face of the sun.
