A big thanks to everyone who helped make Axis Football League one of the lowest-rated games ever on Armor Games just because you don't like or understand football. Your willingness to rate a decent game even lower than incomprehensible crap like "Babies Dream of Dead Worlds" helps to ensure that the Flash platform will stay barren of quality sports games. Well done.
Maybe if it was called Football Tower Defense it would have got the automatic 7-point handicap that all the knockoff TD games seem to get.
Or maybe if it were called Axis American Football League less real football fans would click it, play it and rate it, it's all in the name Also all the plays are too confusing for non watchers of American Football, that's why it has low ratings I assume. Should at least be explanations or something to them :S
it would help if there was a section which explained the basics of football, seeing as people from other countries dont understand the game (UK)
Did you know that there was a NFl game in london it was the patriots vs the jets I think and there is also a nfl europe candia has it too the feilds are just 20 yards longer. Soon we will be seeing the nfl turn into the IFL with the addition of new teams probaly 8 teams with 2 new divsions probaly afc europe and nfc europe
i agree 100%... plus i think most of the ratings that go into games are people just trying to gain AP and dont even play the game... plus the fact that people from other countries do not have a clue about american football... i love american football and euro football or (soccer) and im also a dual citizen of the US and England and it really gets me when i see people from those countries attack eachother for no reason... axis football is a really well made flash game and dont get me wrong i would love to see more to it like audibles and or upgrades of some sort... but it does not deserve a 3.5 rating... its just ludacris to me

Anyway, I agree mostly with the OP, except for what I noted above.
1) Outside of the forums, AG is crazed place full of spammers and noobs who rate games poorly. Worse than Kong and NG by the way, and no I'm not talking about the forums.
2) People here have rarefied tastes, or are stupid. Once again, I'm not talking about the forums.
3) 3.5? Come on! That game is better than other crap I've seen. The crowd here on AG is very biased. Heh, reminds me of AG's Facebook page being filled with Raze noobs. No offense to Raze and its fans.
4. At first though I thought Axis Football League was referring to a Nazi Germany and friends football game. Hah.
5. Football/soccer vs. American football/gridiron is a stupid debate.
6. Who cares about the name it's perfectly fine?

You can't really flashify and 2d a football game, and have it be good. It looks like something similar to pong. Then you have to add all the customization ability and more and more customization ability.
To me, it doesn't matter how much you can customize your own team with the plays and the stats. If the gameplay is bad, the game is bad.
You can't really flashify a firing range either but when last I checked The Gun Game was getting plenty of love.
A game like Axis Football is to Madden what Colony is to Starcraft, a light-weight version of a major franchise. Both versions have their place.
I agree that it's pretty confusing if you know nothing about American Football. But in that case why even click on the game? I think most people on AG just went "nurrrr, sports are dumb!" and gave it a knee-jerk 0/10 rating.
I think people are assuming too much with this game and trying to convince others that it's something it's not.
I tried it, I played a few games despite not knowing a single thing about the sport. I genuinely tried to figure it out and enjoy it, because from what I'd read I didn't want to just be another hater on the bandwagon.
Despite all of that, it still made no sense to me at all and because of that sole reason, it's a poor game. Games should be accessible to anyone and a tutorial would of worked wonders for this one.
