Let's be honest here. If aliens had the ability to travel through the galaxy, their technology and civilization would be far superior to anything we could offer them.
So I think the overwhelmingly likely outcome would be negative for us.
I'd still resist them though. You don't just let yourself be killed.
if they were so intelligent and advanced then why would they be hostile? Unless they just wanted another very good life supportive planet like the one we just so happen to live on.
if they were so intelligent and advanced then why would they be hostile?
Well, if they where intelligent and advanced. They would be light years before us. What would you do if you came too, lets say an planet of ants. Wouldn't you take over the planet? Or would you let the far superior life form rule the planet?
And if they fought back, wouldn't you fight back, a war you'd obviously win?
So if aliens came to Earth, yes they would be hostile. Or at least diplomatic and if they didn't get what they want. Booom!
well it all depends.... they will come at some point in the future but their intentions may be to...
exterminate humanity: whether for some unkown reason like the newer terminator movies or because they dont have a planet, this s definetly the worst. if they can really manage to get to earth, they undoubtedly have much more advanced technology and can easily extinct us.
rule humanity: whether divine or they are just that arrogant, can go either way.
teach humanity: probably one of the best, although this migth go along the lines of or include ruling humanity.
colonize earth: can be combined with any of the above, peaceful or violent.
abduct humans: research? this might or might not have already happened. motives questionable.
communicate/meet with earthlings: perhaps a more friendly, arrogant,or level-minded alien group would simply jut come to visit in public, whether as a show of force, awe, or simply showing their presence. can be preceded by any of the above.
i'm sick and tired of people saying that x(planet) can't support life.
it can't support life from EARTH. who knows, maybe theres a planet with aliens that don't need water to survive. the idea that all life anywhere would require the same type of nutrients that we need is ridiculous.
sorry for the semi-random rant. just thought i'd throw that in.
anyway, its also highly unlikely that we are the only living things in the entire universe. there are galaxies that are soo big that our modern view of physics says that they shouldn't exist.
Yeah. It's nearly implausible that we are the only intelligent life form in the whole universe.
There are eight planets in this solar system (I donn't know if that's the right English word..), and there are 100 billion solar systems in this galaxy. And there are 100 billion galaxies in this universe (and there are theories of other universes).
We are the most intelligent and advanced species on this planet and it hasn't stopped us from being hostile.
So what would we do if we found another planet with intelligent lie? would we take it over if they were far behind or even slightly behind? I know i wouldnt, i would join with them, unless they were hostile towards me from teh start
