Here is one review by me and two by others:

How much I enjoy Sonny 1+2 ?

I'm a 22 year old university student interested in Strategy, RPG, Adventure, and mind games. And these are the links to
Sonny 1: [url=http://armorgames.com/play/505/sonny]
Sonny 2: [url=http://armorgames.com/play/2900/sonny-2]
Diablo (not free. Not on Armor Games. I really like it): [url=http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/]
Tainted kingdom: [url=http://armorgames.com/play/1091/tainted-kingdom]

Now Let's cut to the cheese. The story is understood through real time events; by clicking on objects; people; and reading things on the weapons. This combines art, story and gameplay. I feel ... Wow. But let's be a bit structured:

Art

Graphics are bloodless and fresh. Places are varied; and Music is just fine (but not as good as Colony's) . I love Perfect dialogues here and there. Thanks to all those adorable dialogues. "No one escapes from my prison." "Don't start what you can't finish boys." "but nothing saves you from ME" "Ou it's you." "No tickets, no ride." "Guards..." I keep feeling... wow.

The mid-game movies are not as good as the ones in the "Tainted kingdom" (a game by the same author). But still good. The parts about "Armor Games" and "krin" has a really good music. The characters are also weaker (except Sonny; which is really good).

Story

The first thing I see is a friend who is waking me up. I start as a "good" zombie, with a "good" name. I'm not guilty for being a zombie. No one calls me a zombie for 8 chapters. And I don't even remember. This puts me exactly in place of sonny; and that's what I call Role Playing Game. The ZPCI are the bad guys. We know it; And by killing the friend, they admit it. I feel wooooooooow! (Yes. That's exactly nine "o"s).

We go for the baron, with the help of a paladin. And then we have to betray him. Later we find out he was baron's puppet and we were right to do it, but wrong to think baron is finished. The escape to train is cool, the train story is bad, Tunnel of illusion is great, and city story, puts us in the victory moment of a revolution. I feel wooooooow.

Now the best: "Two of the zones" is only accessible in higher difficulties. I feel wooow.

There is an unwanted, but socially useful adventure. Varadux joins. Roland joins for a reason. Baron is finished off. The mayor is overthrown. And some people understand the truth about zombies and ZPCI. No pointless hardship like in Diablo.

---------- BUT ----------
What were we doing in that ship so far from civilization? Who was Louis? Who the hell is felicity? Why did felicity steal the tape? Why did she run away to a jail?? It would make me feel wooooow if I knew these DO have an answer.

Game-play

This is a turn based rather than live action game like Diablo. This allows the protagonists to be wiser and more eager, but not much stronger than the enemies. No enemy swarms like Diablo Easy is not too easy; and heroic is not unbeatable. AI is neither too wise, nor too dumb. I feel woooow

Sonny 1 mostly involves 1 vs 3 battle, while "sonny 2" has a lot of 3 vs 1 fights. Healing is now weaker than sonny 1; but it's easier to reload focus.

Swords go against rifles. And rifles are usually used for stabbing; not shooting. However; There are few game-play goofs and since it's more about fighting than story, story goofs are ignorable.
The abilities are good in sonny 1. The attributes and classes were bad in sonny 1. But in sonny 2 you get many attributes each level. And the three classes have different abilities. wooow.

The attribute design is good in both games: Speed, Strength, Vitality, and Instinct. (Only 4. Not too much varied). "Focus" is a much better name than Mana. "Instinct" is also much better than "Magic". And the game is nearly not magical. I feel woooow.

---------- BUT ----------
The defense is awful. The piercing abilities are also bad:
- First we can hardly find two items with the same piercing or defense abilities, so we can't stack them.
- Second we can't find the item with the appropriate piercing type for our own class. Or the appropriate defense type of that zone.
- Even if we do, we level up and replace it with a better item very soon.
- Piercing is too weak. 200 piercing gives a bit chance to do a little more damage. "Strength" is much more reliable.
- I use a "+50 strength" item instead of "+200" physical defense one; which you can't even find! That's because one third of attacks are not physical.
- No attributes or abilities increase piercing and defense. Just items.

Team control is awful in sonny 1 and better in sonny 2. But lack of control makes me feel baaaad. It limits my potential.
- When sonny dies, teammates act so fast that we can't change team options on time. That's because we can't do it in the middle of the turn.
- We can't order teammates exactly which skill to use, which really limits our control, but is crucial for the story.
- And we can't even understand what exactly their skills are. (For example how much Varadux heals or return focus, when he shoots lightning, how much damage he does, how many skills he's got)
- The turns are also based on speed which we can't control a lot.

I hate chance. I need something I can control or at least count on. I like Strategy. There is a load of things based on chance in this game
- Things that enemies drop. Ok
- The chance to dodge. Ok
- The chance to do critical strike. Or stun the enemy. Or remove the buff. ok
- What we confront in a practice fight. Not so ok.
- The amount and type of piercing and defense we can have. Not ok
- The skills that our teammates choose to use. Not ok at all. They are human and we must have more control.

Other

Some of the things that the game doesn't and shouldn't have make me feel Gooood:
- There is not much story in sonny 1. Good. We first learn to play. Then the Sonny 2 story invites us to continue.
- there is just one difficulty in sonny 1. Good. Let's go for sonny 2.
- We have only one teammate in "Sonny 1"; And the story doesn't end. Good. It sounds like Sonny is made to have sequel. That causes a lot of things to get new after a week.
- There is no multiplayer. Good. No one bothers to hack it.

To sum up

I feel woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow (that's 38 "o" s). but I feel a little baaaad about the team control, luck based things, and piercing/defense.

A word to Jakrin

This is a good game. But it can get really better. You don't need to make a game based on luck just because Diablo was so. You CAN give us more controls plus deeper strength and weakness points. Like what you did in "Colony"

This game is my all time favorite. The storyline, characters, and the endless ways to make your Sonny powerful make this game awesome.

Compliments-

Going for the Corrupter and getting the legend achievement was very difficult. It made me get a feel for the game. Every battle needed its own tactical approach to win. Sometimes you needed vitality, and sometimes you need all the firepower to get. You never new what would happen in the next battle. All that hard work really just made the game more fun. The funny thing is, I imagined the Corrupter more as someone like Nostalgia instead of someone like the Judge!
I also loved the new "colorful buttons" It enable you almost full control over your teammates.

Complaints-
I was kinda mad when I played Gregor the roach and the game would glitch so that Gregor would go twice in a row right when I was about to disrupt him. But I beat him in the end.
The Corrupter was a bit disappointing. All I did was the full Withdrawal combo and it was over. I was expecting a much tougher fight after all I had been through to get to the last boss. The twin guardians were probably the hardest hardest opponents in zone 7.

All in all a great game Krin. Keep up the good work

I think that this game deserves a 10 out of 10 because, well, I don't think anything could make it better. A few glitches, and some minor problems, but don't all games have those? The more complicated the game is, the more problems there are to it. The ratio of (good) complications to problems is infinite. This game is like infinity, the Mandelbrot set, and the rest of the universe. I think the only game that can compare in complication that I've played is Pokemon. Which is not a flash game. The endless possibilities. The endless paths to choose from. The un-accomplishable dream of beating the game...

*Too easy to do a lot of damage
*Battles are too varying in difficulty
*Not enough piercing effectiveness/ability to gain piercing

Maybe in the next Sonny we could be able to spend Piercing Points when we level up.

Why does Felicity not give Sonny The Tape when she joins their team?

Why is there a hyperlink to the walkthrough? Doesn't that ruin the point?

Well I think I've said it all... If I could pick a game to play for the rest of my life, it'd be this one...

Good Game Krin!!!

Okay, I think I don't have much to say after all of that, I just want to share my approbation with you all.

Krin has made an incredible work and I'm glad to play his game. Nice to see I am not the only one to spend a very good time on this wonderful game

Keep up this way !

I agree with the reveiw the art was improved in Sonny 2 and the classes. Also leaving sonny 1 AND 2 at a cliff hanger makes use enjoy the sequeal.
