Why did apple say the 2g didn't meet the hardware requirements for multitasking? Were they just trying to get us to buy the iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4? I'm multitasking safari and pandora radio right now on my iPod touch 2g ios4 and I'm not lagging one bit...anyone explain why they said that?

Probely not enough RAM to work with. The old ones like yours only have 128MB of RAM but the new ones have 256MB of RAM. This doesnt seem like much but there is a big difference Apple need to increase the size of there phones 256 isnt even much to work with.

But I mean like when multitasking how many windows are you going to keep open?

only a few pages they call it "intelligent multitasking." A google search would of been much easyier.

They still should of let multitasking on the non-jailbroken iPod touch 2g and iPhone 3G....it's been shown that they can handle it just put a limit or something.

No the 2g has been out a year or 2.. The 3G is the new one.
