For those of you who dont know Gordon Brown is the British prime minister who took over from tony blair when he stepped down and all i want to know is what you think of him? personnaly i think he is a not a bad PM, but is not doing enought to help this country although he is doing his best, i just think he got dropped into the deep end when Blair steped down, exspecially with the war and the housing problems, ect.

lol true. I cant wait for the Oliver Stone Bush biopic. Bush and Stone went to Harvard together but when Stone went to fight in Vietnam Bush paid his way out of it and used his dads connections. Stone has disliked him ever since for that and reading an interview it shows Bush as an alcoholic party boy. I cant wait. At least our PM is cleverer than a doorknob i guess. Still very incompetent tho Brown. Not up to much.

Its not the form of government which is at fault. Democracy is fine by me its just the systems in place in the UK are ridiculous. There needs to be drastic reform in many areas including taxation and election systems. I think proportional representation would be far better for this coountry as it would give the lib dems a chance. However i wouldnt take it so far as to let it be like the weimar of germany in the 20s where nothing got done. I just think more in that direction. Many people in this country would gladdly accept those changes. It just needs a PM with the political will and cojones to make that happen.
That wasn't the point...

My point was, every form of gevernment can be flawed. Every form of government can be constructive. It depends on the people running it.

I will leave you with another point:

He who does not learn from the mistakes of history is doomed to repeat them.

you are a big fan of that saying aren't you.

but for once Agent I agree with something you've said. Every government is flawed and each has something possitive about it as well. The point is how you go about fixing the flaws.

The reason I like it is because it's true...

The sad part is, the person who said that quote about democracy was my 9th grade science/government teacher, Matthew H. Sanders.

Well, I hate to break it to you but your teacher didn't create that saying.

yes that was George Santayana the Spanish philosopher who said that originally.(shared the same bday as me aswell!)

Yes but we are discussin the PM not the form of goovernment he is running. He is completely incapable of ruling. He wasnt even voted in for christs sake.
