I don't get 1331 speak. It's seems rather pointless to me. but i'm sure that it, just like everything else in the universe, has served it's purpose somehow.
So what is 1331 speak in the first place? Where is it used, and why? How do I identify it from some other computer speak?

1331speak or 'leet' speak, is typing out words not using leters, but nmbers and other characters. there are many different ways to do each letter, but here is an example of 'I like NomNoms!!!'

I have to agree Zoph. It has gone beyond its original usage by hackers, crackers and script kiddies. Nowadays you find people using it to mock newbies and people unaware of Leetspeak and it's used among gamers too.

I don't really mind these internet dialects/languages.

This is the type of stuff that makes me feel like an old man. Looks like crypto quotes but with numbers and dashes instead of just letters. I don't see how this is legible. Damn my old man eyes!
