That's got to be Ryan. The time-frame works out too -- this is set in 1912, and Rapture was built sometime before 1929.

You know what, you're right. I think I had things mixed up because of the setting of the games. Completely neglected to think about when Rapture was built rather than focusing on when you get there for the first time. My mistake. And yeah, that must be Ryan then.

plus everything appeared very very fifty's, and the dates of the Rapture Civil War reveals there is no way it was built in 1929....

and i think what Lamb did to Sinclair was wrong.... he funded the city and how do they pay him back?so close to escape, turn him into the last metal monster created, or an 'Alpha series'.

oh and why can'ta Big Daddy just step out of the suit??? all you need is a saw/blowtorch and your out.

really?? ecause quite a few times Subject Delta looks at himself and isn't panic-struck... isn't it something like certain organs are bonded with the system???

Yeah I think that once you are in the suit you are bonded with it cause in Bioshock 2 you would die if you got hurt enough. If you werent connected then the suit would protect you.

Yeah, after a certain point in the process the body is dependent on the suit to survive. Remove it, and it'd be like removing all of your vital organs, obviously you would die from that. I'm sure there could be some sort of removal process made, but what would be the point? Why would Ryan want to disarm his enforcers?

or maybe the enforcers want to disarm themselves? like at end of bioshock 2, Eleanor has those big BA blades and can't or doesn't cut open the suit. it can be implied from the hints at the process of Big Daddy making, the flashback where the helmet is put on, Sinclair's words, and the wiki that the suit is unremovable.

The floating city of Columbia seems the polar opposite of Bioshock's Rapture. Obviously, it's floating as opposed to sunken under the sea, but it's also a city that is obviously in good repair (at least in the trailer) and functioning. Rapture is more like a tomb, waiting to be washed away. Where Rapture was started by a single individual, there is a definite theme of collectivism/Nationalism in Columbia, as evidenced by the American flags everywhere and the red, white and blue bunting. Overall, it seems like a cautionary tale of American Exceptionalism run amock.

Except it's obvious that something has gone horrible wrong. We see in the trailer's propaganda poster an exact opposite of the Statue of Liberty. Lady Liberty implores the world to send their huddled masses to our shores, where Lady Columbia implores the scum to stay away.

Taking Ryan's personality and philosophy into account, I don't think he cared much if the enforcers wanted to disarm themselves, or it just never occurred to him that it would happen. With the exception of the player character of the second game, Big Daddies seem fairly mindless. They show no emotion and they're only focus is on their job. The later versions must have had some sort of conditioning or brainwashing to make them that way. I remember an audio journal in the first game along those lines, which along with the chemical conditioning attaching them to the little sisters, would completely strip any humanity away from them. The only people who would even consider removing the suits wouldn't be Big Daddies, and it obviously never got to the point where it became an issue.

In Rapture you were under water so there was no sunlight and everything was dark, but in this game everything have sunlight. I think that is some cases the light will work against you. My opinion.

hmmm i wonder what the enemies will be like... couldn't be splicers, as they need ADAM and ADAM is only found in a certain sea slug...this will be really interesting, n i'm definetly getting it.

and from the trailer, why would the Big Daddy be killing everyone? is it misfunctional ,mind-controlled, or just straight up evil???? again, this should be very interesting.

Well if there is no adam then there has to be some other substance because the girl you see used telekinesis to stop you from falling. I read from G4 that they played a little bit of the game and said that the guy didnt inject himself like before he just drinks a juice substance.
