Lately, my Sims 3 game has been acting up. This time it's gone one step too far by getting itself stuck in the disc drive! I don't know how it happened, but it happened, and now I can't get it out. It's a Mac, so I did try the "open" button about 10 times, but nothing is happening.
Is there any alternative way to get this disc out?
Is there a way to do it manually without having to take it anywhere? It's a pretty big computer and it's not easy to haul around, plus taking it to the Apple Store would be somewhat expensive...
The disc drive is a slot, not an opening tray. If that's what Mac laptops have, I could try doing it that way. It will just be pretty difficult to get the disc out at such a strange angle.
Thank you! I restarted the computer and the disc came out! I think Floyd must've opened Photoshop (it's his computer; Sims 3 won't work on my old machine) and forgot to close it. That may have done it.
I'm glad I could help - resident techie of my (admittedly not very tech-savvy) family, my reputation was on the line. I don't often use Macs but I remembered that happening to me with my cousins Mac ^.^
All I can say is that if you ever need to open a stuck disc drive on a PC, most of the time you'll find that there's a small hole right underneath the disc tray. Use the end of a paperclip on it, and you should be able to get it to open manually. Even if the computer's turned off too.
