I'm going into High School, and they give every student a Laptop. Well anyway, you can't go on game sites on it. So, I was wondering, how would I go about downloading games onto a flash drive.

There you go.

Just put it on there. Your comp should have a flash player already on it, fully up to date.

Oh, forgot, you have to click 'Get Code' and then download. It SHOULD work, but I've never actually tried it.

@Joe96 Every summer we give them back and when we graduate, we give them back forever, and they get put into the grade and middle school.

Talking about flash games right?

Many sites offer free dowloads of their flash games, you can get some from AG, you can find some through Google (some sites may have them illegally) or you can directly download a flash game from the webpage. Flash capture software does the job, though I have done so without the need of that on Firefox.

Emulators! I recommend getting one of the SNES, GBA, and PS1. Those have some great games on them! Now all you have to do is find a website to download them.

You need a swf player to play the games you download from here.
Easily found with google.

Due to the illegality of using roms, I advise against using emulators and talking about them here. Even if you won't get caught, still can't talk about them.

I figure you can use ePSXe to emulate the PS1 though. Just make sure you have a legally obtained BIOS and some actual PS1 game discs. "Dumping" the BIOS from an actual PS1 console is legal I believe.

You probably only need an .SWF is a PC doesn't have the Flash Player. Some flash games however are packaged in .exe files which don't really need the Flash Player and can run without it.

As for portable games... You could use portable application creation software. I believe the good ones cost though. Basically, the major hurdle to putting your games on flash drives would be an app's dependence on the registry and some other system files (.dlls, etc.) I've come across some patches for a few games which made them portable. That's how I made my Fallout 2, portable.

Other games just worked, even if I merely cut and pasted the entire game folder.
