Are you a board game geek? If so, this thread is for you. Every week we're going to talk about a different board game. You can say anything you want about it: strategy, your thoughts on the game, or even a fun session you had. The board games discussed can range from esoteric to very well-known. If you have any suggestions about a board game to talk about next week, just send me comment on my messenger.
This week, we'll start off with a popular board game that is pretty simple to learn but different every time you play: Settlers of Catan!
I played this game pretty avidly for a year with my friends, and it is very fun. The gist of the game is that you and the other players settle on a big ol' island called Catan, and you want to be the first to establish a full colony on the island by building roads, settlements, cities, and armies. In its core, it's about resource domination and economical management, but there's plenty of diplomacy (read: backstabbing and angry shouting amongst each other) involved as well. Much to my regret, I haven't played any of the expansions.
