Well we were talking in class and my teacher stated her opinion on the whole end of the world 2012 thing. And it went something like this. "It is just the end of their calendar"...."When it starts over again"..."it would be like if later down the road our culture was to die out for some reason"..."and somebody was to find one of our pre-made calendars with the year 2019 on it"
I know there's something wrong here but I can't put my finger on it. Anybody care to point out the flaws in this theory?

i don't see a flaw. actually its one on the better points i have heard about the whole event of 2012.
There's supossed to be a Solar Eclipce on some island in Central America that the Mayans predicted.
well that has nothing to do with the world ending. but yeah the Mayans were smart, that dosn't mean that when they got too lazy to keep their calendar going that that is when the world will end
The Mayans were HUGELY into the stars, universe, etc. And somehow or another they figured that December 21st, 2012, would be when the planet Earth would reach the beginning of where it started in the Milky Way. Its like running around a track. Running 1 lap isnt the end, just a completion.
lmao my rother already bought 3, yes 3, guns in anticipation of 2012, a 22 cal sniper, pistol, and a hunting shotgun >.> . i think he's really stupid..
but i've pondered over that idea before, and i find it plausible. but why would it stop on dec. 21 2012 and not the end of the year? or, countering that point, they just put the last signifigant event that year....
i'm pretty sure the reason they stopped making calendars at 2012 cause someone was like ok this is WAY to many calenders don't you think we should stop now and enjoy something other than calendars
