Well, I have a problem and need the advice/wisdom of the AG Gamer community >.> . Lets just say I have a lot of money on my hands, and need a good single player game for the PS3. it doesn't need to be exclusively Singe player, it can have online, but needs to have a very replayable, or just plain awesome, uniplayer :P.
games i have my eye on currently: Mafia 2 Dead Rising 2 R.U.S.E ( i wuv strategy, and i can n will anyday pwn you at it ) Black Ops? Sims 3 maybe a pirate game >.>
oh and please, actual answers, not ' MW2 ZOMFG' becuz i both already have it and it is a very short, biased response with no reasoning behind it. that one is only an example.
Well, games that I have really liked are Infamous, Prototype, Resident Evil 5 and 4, Uncharted 1 and 2, The Wolverine game for the movie, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Assasins Creed 2.
but the call of duty series always seems to have pretty deep storylines.
The first three and World at War had repeated storylines and the two Modern Warfare games had brain-dead storylines that were only appealing due to the cinematic nature of the campaigns.
Infamous, Prototype
Prototype was fun for a little while but once the campaign ended there was nothing much to do but collect landmarks and hints. I can't comment on inFamous but as far as I knew it had the same problems as Prototype.
I won't offer you any suggestions that aren't on your list because I don't really know what kind of games you like. Out of those I definitely wouldn't go for RUSE or Sims 3. Sims 3 plays horribly on consoles -- the control scheme is simply wrong -- and RUSE wasn't that fun on the beta. Mafia 2 and Black Ops I'd keep my eye on just because they both look interesting and possibly will turn out to be very good games. For now, Dead Rising 2 will get my vote, the first one was just stupidly fun zombie slaughtering mayhem, it had a story but it was far more fun to just destroy waves of zombies with lawnmowers.
I would say if u like Zombie games choose Dead Rising 2 but another great game would be Black ops but if i were u i would buy a second game aswell n tht would be Mafia 2 !!
