Here's my review.

OMGSH WOW WOW WOW! It was so freaking awesoe I can't even believe how AWESOME. It was worth the two days that I wasted that I was supposed to be using for my homework. Now I am behind but it was totally worth it!!!

That was a joke I copied it straight from my profile. Anyways the book was great it was perfect in every way. There were so many twists and turns you can never see what's coming next. Well that's not entirely true you could feel what was going to happen before it did, but you didn't think that the author would do that. Anyways I got it on tuesday and finished it yesterday. If you are a fan of the HGT than you will see that this is the best, and you will be entirely suprised by what happens. A must read for the fans of Collins. Anybody else read it yet?

Though by the summary of book 2, I don't think I'll like it that much.

Yes yes it is.
Anyways I read it too and it was pretty good. It seemed like she was really using the Author Axe on alot of characters by the end though.

Uhmmm...this is really just a rave review. If a real critic wrote this, I'd say they'd been bribed, lol. xP
I've read the first book(The Hunger Games) and I'm on hold for the second.
My opinion on the first book is that it just...irked me. The whole idea. I loved it, but it just irked me. As the characters manipulated and deceived people in order to get donations, you lost respect and sympathy, but at the same time, you understand that it's the only way for them to survive. Even as they become more fleshed-out and human, they become less and less the good person they were before.
And this is unrelated, but every time I read about the prep team, I think "gay". Anyone else get this impression?

I don't think gay when I read about them but other people that should be left un-named because you haven't read the second book, I think gay. Somebody has to be gay! Lawl JK.
Anyways I like this book because of the way that it portrays human-nature, selfish. The only to what they do because they want themselves to be survive. Self-centered. But I can't really blame them, the line of people that want to die is short.
The third book is the best by far, enough action to fill my cup two times over. I don't want to go into review making because I might let something slip, I'm bad about that.

It was brilliant! The suspense and the in-depth view of human nature was very interesting to see in a simplified point of view...really good.

I hated the first book. That was the end for me.

@Hypermnestra I liked that the characters weren't your typical aways noble types and they showed their human sides.

Yeah, that's what set the series apart for me. The characters were human, they weren't perfect, but you can relate to them more because of that. Sometimes you sympathize with them, other times you want to punch them in the face.
And I liked Haymish a lot. He made me laugh, even if he is manipulative.

Haymitch is great =)
The characters aren't perfect, its realistic because nobody is. My favorite character is not Katniss, nor Peeta, not even Gale, my favorite person is Finnick Odair. He's awesome, and... nevermind he's from the second book. And seeing that not all of you have read it I will just shut up right now.

At first yes. And then not really. They act "snob".
