We already have profiles. Plus, I think that it would take up some more server space to create email for, umm, 600,000 users worldwide, right? But still, I think that an e-mail server would be real sweet.
Cheers for the reply I think you could meet your friend in a chat room and just chat and stuff or you could find a user and ask for them to be your friend.
AIM, Skype, and MSN will do just fine for chatting amongst your friends. These off-site chatting systems completely eliminate the need for an AG run email service.
Yeah but what if you don't know your mates Email address or if you don't if you are talking to him/her.
Thats sort of your own issue. You can ask them what it is through their profile message board, and on top of that I would think that AG needs to conserve its server space for dedicated servers for all of the multiplayer flash games, as well as just maintaining the basic site, and its traffic. An AG email service does not seem like a very smart business venture if you ask me.
Lol, either use comments, the forum or normal email. I see no real need for a sort of AG-mail feature. What is the reason we need it now?
Yeah but what if you don't know your mates Email address or if you don't if you are talking to him/her.
AG is more based on flash gaming, it's not supposed to be a major social hub (We are not Facebook or an email service). Ask for their email. If they don't give it, then you have to live with comments.
AG e-mail service? That suggestion is ludicrous. It's pointless compared to a PM system, which most online message boards have but this one doesn't.
*facepalm*
Reasons this suggestion is a failure.
1) Suggesting a PM system is better. 2) You can contact your buddies through a variety of means. IM programs, IRC, web chatboxes, e-mail, other websites, profile comments etc. Heck use Pidgin if you won't be bothered downloading multiple IM clients. 3) It has been killed, shot down and revived by the ignorant multiple times. My use of the word ignorant doesn't imply derision, it simply states that people such as the opening poster are unaware. 4) Don't know your mate's e-mail address? Why don't you ask? Use the profile comments? 5) Where is the demand for this? There are plenty of free e-mail providers out there. 6) AG is a flash game site. It isn't whatever you want it to be. It will not rid the world of evil. Your dreams will not be realized because of Armor Games. 7) You don't know much.
Still I think a chat room would do. Meet new friends have a chat and just talk.
There is no hope for an official AG chat room since we used to have one and it got abused. Some of the users of AG use this one though:

You might see myself or some of the other more active members of the forums on there from time to time if your interested.
PM System
I am hoping for a PM system in the future, as it seems like a logical inclusion to the site so long as you are able to blacklist people from PMing you(in case of trolls or spammers of course). I'm going to hope a feature like this will be included in v3.0.
Yet I will add: While it may be a hassle to not have a PM system, there are several ways to get by without one. Back in the day, PM systems were the best way to get in touch with people on a forums. IM programs were not as widely used and chat rooms were (somehow)seedier than today. Not using any of the other programs out there point to sheer laziness or the desire just to be tone deaf whistle-blower.
