I'm new to the community here! HI! Though I don't have flash yet, i have the cabibility of getting it, and when i do, i have a game idea that i want to make! I just want to know if it interests you...
Game Title (full)- Attack of the Horrible, Mutant, Downright Weird Hugging Zombies! Game Title (short)- Hugging Zombies Genre - Survival
On a 2D platform randomly generated arena, you have to survive an endless wave of pink zombies who want to hug you for some reason. You get to use whatever is around you to hide and throw at them to survive for as long as possible without getting hugged to death. (unique isn't it) The zombies come more and more as time goes on, eventually getting smart and destroying cover spots, ambushing you, or even getting mad and crushing your spine as soon as they catch you (instant game over) When caught, you can try to wrestle your way out of his hug, and if sucsessful, you throw him at other zombies. Trust me, the way i have it pictured is much better than the way i'm trying to explain it... i think it'd be a nice distraction for 5 minutes, but what do YOU think?
I don't think it sounds that great. There are way too many zombie-based games out there already (personally I don't like them), and as an amateur you're unlikely to stand out from the crowd. Furthermore your title reminds one of, say, a Captain Underpants book, and this website's viewers skew more towards the XKCD-type crowd. (Please don't let this thread get any replies saying "hey, I hate that comic/like that book", because that's not the point.)
The ideals of a zombie survival game are blood, gore and death. Introducing a 'cuter' aspect (aka hugging zombies) would conflict with the desires of the gamers who you are selling to.
So, no, I speculate that your proposed game would be acceptable by Dan, if you program/draw well enough, but highly unsuccessful.
Thanks for the support! I should get flash soon, then i can learn how to use the dang thing -,- and then i can make the game!Also, what if acheivments unlocked stuff? Say for instance... hide in the same spot for more than 30 seconds and you get to use a statue as a weapon next time you play... Or if you keep struggling after the game over screen, (when 1000 zombies come all a once)then you unlock a bigger life bar... That kind of thing...
@BeastMode10: This is supposed to be one of those games that makes you laugh out loud by it's outrageous ridiculousness.
