Wow, after reading this i felt really confused. How can you play a game, without "knowing" it. In that case everybody is a winner, because everybody has "forgotten" that they are playing a game..
My opinion: i really don't get where this will go to..
Once you leave and start worrying about other things you will forget about this topic (trust me), something will trigger you off, whether it is the actual word written down somewhere or even something silly as reference such as a video game, you will remember it, at which point you should announce out loud "I just lost the game". It's pretty fun, especially when there are people in the room playing as well!
It's the people who think the game is pointless that are preventing everyone from winning, sometimes you should try to accept new concepts even if they scare you or you think they are pointless.
By the way, if you have never played and lost how do you even know it's not fun?

Because it isn't. You're doing nothing except just saying 'I lost the game' Nobody actually cares, and people who use it in real life.. is just.. no, Why?
Im not forcing you to play. to be honest i do find it fun, almost everyone i know plays and i can go days, even weeks without remembering and when i do it makes me smile. the fact that the other people i play with have to hear i lost or they tell me they have lost kinda sets a good mood. it doesn't matter if you think it's dumb, you just don't have to play. a closed mind lets nothing in, so how can it give anything out?
every group of friends has their own little inside joke that they go with for a while. this might be one, because you'll be sitting with all your friends one day, bored, then all of a sudden you remember the game, so you say "i just lost the game". i dont think its funny but i get why you do.
you can also mess with the people who are really serious about it by telling them things like "I've already won the game so I don't play anymore," so then they try and explain how you can't win. I got tired of hearing it very quickly, so now I remind others that "lay" by using the words "the game" in sentences that sound innocent just to get them to think about it.
