I think that you should be allowed to add backgrounds to your profile, and unlock more from getting more armor points. Possibly even color-schemes to the over-all website.
This would be a good idea. Some people would like it, some not. It could very well create lag or slow loading if the schemes or backgrounds were more complicated. As locoace3 said AG is not myspace. Its for people to come for flash games. Most people will be more involved in the games and wont even pay attention to the schemes or backgrounds.
it would be cool and different but unfortonitly it isnt myspace i would really work for a cool back round and it needs something more to it to get a lot of ppl to get a backround but i would get one instantly

I know I wouldn't work for a background, If I got one along the way it might be nice.
One thing I just thought of is it might take up alot of AG space (I'm not sure though). But if it does why take up the room with backgrounds or themes when AG can use it for, you guessed it, GAMES!

We don't know that. You also don't seem to know much about CSS or HTML... If it were a single color background, it would make no difference in size (Like half a kb at most).
Of course it would be optional: We choose what to customize, what colors and such. Otherwise it would just be an update to site interface.
