Game Maker 7 - An extremely popular program that's used by many indy developers to create games. It's extremely easy to use, and is great for those of you starting out.
This topic is a work in progress and will be edited to include more programs at a later date. If you want to see a program added, or need help with game development, please leave me a comment of my userpage. Thank you.

No, action script is free and Flash develop is also free since it's open source.
Does anyone know of any alternatives besides game maker and cs5 for mac.
Oh i forgot they also have to be compatible with Snow Leopard. Thanks
Here this is pretty new and I can't test it. So inform us if it works for the benefit of others.

Yes you can use any flash version to make games and Macromedia MX 8 is only 5 years old.
I've got a huge game which consists of 30 swf files one of them contains actionscript with loaders (graphics are in other files cause flash just crashes when I try to make my game in one file)
it works but only on my desktop..
I'm new to this but how can I upload those files..
should I upload graphic files somewhere else on some other server or how?
I believe you need to submit a whole .fla file. But I don't really know since I haven't submitted anything and not many people ask. I would ask moderator like corymn

I have been using Game Maker since version 5.1. It really is a fantastic platform and a great introduction into game development. The mac version wasn't quite up to snuff, but then again, it is still a young product.
does game maker 7 work on this site ? please let me know !!!
nope. only swf files here. and I think game maker is exe.
Which means you will have to use Flash Professional. It is like $699 though.
