Whether it's legal or not won't stop people using it, I got hold of it really easily when I was 14/15, it's really not hard to get, making it legal would just bring it out of the alleys and house parties and into the streets.
Anyway no I don't think it should be legal, it's much more fun to do it illegaly xD
The most that you get is a warning and confiscation anyway if you get caught by police..

i really hope you are joking.

yes it should be legalized. there are no long term effects of marijuana use, you can't die of an overdose. in fact it even used to be legal here in the US. The only reason its illegal is to protect several industries, mainly paper and textiles, because its much more cheaper to use hemp instead of trees for paper and instead of denim/whatever-the-hell-your-clothes-are-made-of. that and because the government didn't like the hippies.

The only reason it is a "gateway" drug is that the guy who sells you marijuana can also probably sell you heroine or crack. If it becomes legal it would be sold where you buy cigarettes or other smoking items.

did I mention everything? oh I guess I could have mentioned something about the medicinal qualities of marijuana, but I'm sure that has been thrown around a lot.

yes it should so long as the person who sells it to you is completely licensed to do it and you do it in your home or in specified areas don't understand why it shouldn't

there are no long term effects of marijuana use,

Yes, there are.
Other than that...I think it's not really any worse for you than regular cigarettes, and so as long as it's not in public areas, then sure, pot could be legal. It's their choice, and it doesn't really matter. People are going to get marijuana whether it's legal or not, except when it's legal at least the government will be getting tax on it. I hate hippies as much as the next person, but I think it should still be legalized.
And in my opinion, the only reason that marijuana is a gateway drug, if it is at all, is because it's illegal. If you're willing to cross the "legal" line for pot, then you'll be willing to do it for other drugs as well.

Yes, there are.
Long-term regular users of marijuana may become psychologically dependent. They may have a hard time limiting their use, they may need more of the drug to get the same effect, and they may develop problems with their jobs and personal relationships. The drug can become the most important aspect of their lives.

I'd be more inclined to believe that if it was written more recently. thats over 20 years old.

I didn't see long term effects in their(I could have missed it though, I am quite tired at the moment).
This is a pretty good source for facts on marijuana. It contains many myths and the facts that prove such myths wrong.
Marijuana smoke contains some of the same ingredients in tobacco smoke that can cause emphysema and cancer.

Which is funny, because you can't find a case where cancer is linked to marijuana alone!
Those ingredients in tobacco smoke are added to the tobacco by the tobacco companies. If its not added its not there. As far as I know, marijuana has nothing added to it.

Wait a minute...I swear NoName just posted. Does anyone else not see the post anymore?
But yeah, sorry guys. The page is ancient and stuff. I've only really learned about drugs and stuff in DARE, and I will admit that at the very least, that's not exactly an unbiased source.

lol, beer, uncomparable. have you ever heard of anyone driving there car high and speeding , and wrecking into a family of good non religious fruit farmers????? (random example). show me a stoner in his room, wacked on pot, playin video games in his underwear, and i'll show you someone not causing any problems. pots totally fine, plus, they really arent as hard on it anymore anyway. i live in a really small town, and i grew pot for a while. i set up a nice hydro system, but i had a card, it was 100 bucks a year, and the police came out once to check up on me, and i toked them up and we just hung out. im not saying this is a normal occurence, but its not really any worse for you than cigs, except im not sure if weed causes cancer, plus, ITS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! if your old enough.

p.s. its not cool for kids to be tryin this stuff, i was 19 when i first smoked, and done with school, and it was for FUN, not to medicate. there is a difference. im not advocating it either ,*cough*mods*cough* i don't do it now that i have a job, all im sayin is that it shouldnt be classified as a drug anymore than cigs.

the point is not that i can, i have never tried, but that most stoners are way to parranoid to drive, and even if they did get the urge, the chances of them actually having a car, and not only that but having gas to put in the car, is so low that they are just a much lower danger than drunks. weed makes you stupid/parranoid/lazy/hungry.
booze makes you stupid/energetic/stupid/happy/stupid/broke/stupid.

This has gone off topic, and can be continued in a WELL established marijuana topic. In the topic I'm about to list are a lot of studies, charts, opinions, the works.

So...have at IT
