Well, its finally going to be released, 14 years after it was announced that they started it. Sometime in 2011 this game will finally hit the shelves. I just wonder how many games remember its predecessor, and how many have been waiting for this game for 14 years. Also for those who know the history of this game, do you think this is real or not?

Most of the reason I trust this is the playable demo and the fact that with all the owner/leader of Gearbox said he'd lose all of his credibility if he lied.

I definitely think it is real, but I'm not sure how good it is going to be, plus it probably won't be released for a while. You can't exactly take a game that was developed 14 years ago and release it in today's market.

DNF= Did not finish

Duke Nukem Forever

It is taking FOREVER

Apagee totally killed there young great studios with this tittle that they wanted everything in. If they saw something good in another game, they wanted to add it to DNF. If this isn't the greatest game ever created, it will be a total failure.

Duke nukem did take a long 12 year delay n This should explain most of the reasons.

Well one of the initial reasons for a long development time was that they were trying to make it top of the line. They wanted it to be the most modern game, which it could still be as it has been reworked from scratch several times since its initial announcement.

You can rerelease a old game tons of companys find old games and give them a fresh look, its great but you wont make alot of money from it. The problem with this one is that everytime they would release it a new engine would come out so they started again on the same game.

Yeah except you guys are just talking about giving a game fresh graphics. And when game companies do that, it is with classic games that they know everyone would want to play again.

Thats not what they were doing with DNF, it was being recreated from scratch everytime a new engine showed up. However I don't know when that last happened or what Gearbox has done to it.

Yeah this is probably real, all the major game sites have news on it. Too bad there is no way to live up to all the hype.

It won't really be able to deliver on what the hype makes it out to be, but I know it'll definitely be able to deliver on what it says it will do - namely, finally getting finished (and being chucked on the PC as a bonus) - not to mention that the creators of Borderlands, a fantastic shooter, are on the case, and I think that a year is plenty enough to finish what another company started - apparently they're just picking up the tattered prospects of a truly great game.

I'm looking forward to this.

Unless it was on a system that I don't know about, Duke Nukem 3D was only on PC and was what made Duke great.
