I don't like Enimen very much. I do like Eminem much more. He is pretty good but all he's got going for him is rhythm and a little bit of lyric skill. His songs don't seem to have a deep meaning. Tupac, Jay-Z, & Common actually have meaning in their lyrics, plus rhythm.
I think all those superficial rappers are garbage. They have some good songs (it's not like I hate them), but they are not, and will never be, the best. EVER!!!
All in all, I think we can agree that rap is better when layered over classical music.
Well, rap itself is an artform. It doesn't become a masterpiece until it samples great music. For example, rap started out when Deejay's started scratching old rock and roll vinyls, and when rock musicians started jamming with orchestras, rap groups followed suit, resulting in beautiful masterpieces such as Mockingbird.
What I find very interesting about this topic, is that all of us is being mature, and having a reasonable conversation, inlike in the past where all u would see posted is "U suk if u hate (fill in the blank)!". So congrats to us all.
