Jazz apples. A cross between a braeburn and a gala. They have a nice thin skin that doesn't cut into your gum's, a good crisp crunch, and a sweet flavor that lingers in your mouth, also great for pies. Two close runner ups would be a pink lady, and a pacific rose.
On another note New Zealand seems to be doing an awesome job of producing some fantastic cross bread apples.
