I'd have to say Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse.

Dragonlance novels all the way.... there are about 20ish that are the main story and after that there are over 100 more about random stories in the same world written by the same/other authors. You really do get to know the world of Krynn quite well :-P

Oh, the Demonata Series is my favourite too. Followed closely by the Darren Shan Saga.

The Series that "Gone, "Hunger", and "Lies" happens to be in (not quite sure what it's called) or the Mortal Engines series - probably the latter, I was literally moved by those books and it was ended beautifully (even if the transitions from book to book were rather abrupt).

Books I like are Lord of the Rings, the Bartimaeus Trilogy, and a french fantasy book called La Guerre des Reves (the war of dreams), written by Catherine Webb. It's an amazing book and you would never guess, after reading, that she wrote it at the age of fourteen.

I am a fan of Stephen King books. Right now, I think that the Dark Tower series is my favorite at this point in time. I also like other books to, like Misery and Christine.

The Harry Potter Series.

I once read one of the books in less than a day when I had nothing to do.
