i was surprised as the wounded mongrel literally snap my spear in half he charges my friend manages to find a hole in his defense knocks him over ripping the poor man apart i throw him off and finish him i notice a spear and shield laying from my dead ally and a hole in the fight leading into the camp

also to clear up confusion it isn't the huge roman shield its this big

well you are only the hastati fairly poor with moderate armor but it's big enough for the body and down to the thigh but if you were a legion you'd have the classic huge roman tower shield
