Okay so the deal is that people claim this actress had her skin color lightened for the cover of the magazine elle. The magazine has said these claims are false so I am wondering what do you think? Was her skin made to look lighter or does it just look that way because of the lights? Ohh heres the link.

Start discussing.

I dont really know the story behind it all, but its likely that she only had makeup and lights and, of course, photoshop to make her look that way.

Check this out

Ah I see what you mean. Well I say no then, its not just lights, her skin has been smoothed and lightened in photoshop. This is the usual practice in magazines.

???

Im not clear on what you mean FatPanda.

Are you saying photoshop or a program of similar usage is not responsible for most magazine covers. By this I mean more specifically woman and men on magazine covers made up to look better than they are i.e. curves and skin smoothed out, skin colour changed, eyes made to look bright and "innocent" and hair made to look perfect.

I can't believe they changed her skin color so much though.

I remember this issue there was about a cover of a playboy magazine, where the model had no belly button; they forgot to place it back after photoshopping X)

I find this sick people are looking at magazines wishing to look like the models when it's impossible to look like the models because most of it is Photoshop the only thing the magazines are doing is making people even more desperate about their looks.

I think Photoshop should be used the lest as possible. Come on make the models look more humans.

Yes, promote naturality. Don't crush people's self-esteem using their naivity^^

You have a point people are too naive to believe that that's how the models actually looks.

But their to naive to know so most of the fault is to the magazine.

Why are people too naive to know? Somewhere down the line we are being manipulated to think this way. I get a horrible feeling its in the school.

"Give me an adult and I can manipulate him to believe things that are not true, give me your child, and he is mine for life."
cant remember who said that.
