Hey, I was wondering if anyone on Ag uses Google sketchup, a 3d modeling program. I'm not sure if this violates the no-advertising rule, but does anyone have anything worth sharing? I recently made a fun little collection kit, for making a fun little water slide! Feel free to share. So, yeah.
I have Sketchup, but I use Blender instead. I could post some of my works here, if anyone wants to see them. I think SketchUp is good for CAD (computer aided design), but Blender is more of the other stuff (for hobby, animation), although I still use Blender for CAD because it has units built into it.
I strangely enough have been 3d modeling since I was 8... but not with Blender or SketchUp. I made maps for Jedi Knight Academy, which my brother played, so he would test my maps for me, and it would be so fun to watch. That was only for a year, though, and I never 3d modeled much (if not at all) until this year.
Anyway, nice thing you made there. I don't know, but are there fluids systems in SketchUp? It would be cool if you could use that and make an animation of it in action.
Not the best in my opinion, I can make anything you make in blender in sketchup so I'd say sketchup is better.
But then that means you can make anything is Sketchup in Blender, so... it doesn't work out (if you switch Sketchup and Blender, the latter is better, which isn't realistic).
It depends on what you are making. I've never used Sketchup so much, so I cannot say.
So are you gonna put that water slide together or upset the children?
It's a collection, so all the pieces are independent components that can be mixed and matched. In other terms, you put it together yourself to your specs.
