A few months ago there were under 400,000 users. Now there are over 600,000. Where did they all come from? Plus when you have 10 armor points you are ranked like 200,000. Do people really make accounts that they never use?
CtC2 and Exit Path did make a significant increase of users over th summer and it was quite annoying that it did. Most accounts will probably never be used again until another highly anticipated game comes out like Colony 2 or Sonny 3.
We're not alone here. Kong, NG, AddictingGames, etc. have a lot of ghost accounts around them as well.

Yes yes, definately Kong and NG. I'm not sure about Addicting Games though, I feel as if they're too old. But for sure Kong and NG have a ton of ghosts. I even have a ghost on NG just to prove it. I used it for a bit but then realized AG was better...
yes exit path made a considerable amount of users join... i could imagine you get kinda sick of being called a guest_hippo and want a real name... also the fact that the progress is actually saved on the high score thingy instead of on TIP's or cookies.
Eh.... The forums are also called "Community" on Kongregate. Anyone who doesn't know that an internet community could possibly refer to forums is ignorant.
And yes, AG has a lot of younger kids flocking to it so yes.
I guess to cut down on spam you could get rid of users like Prometheus13 that spam one word comments and then go on thier lats while thier current one is banned. It would help a little.
