I know how this feels to be in gr.9 because I am in grade 9. I just want to know how do you feel in gr.9 and i wonder what the older grades think of us. I so far am having a great. HAVE YOU BEEN ENISHEATED?
I'm a soph and i love a good amount of the frosh year. They're either badass, or total fucktards that need to be euthanized. Especially the next generation of bandies.
Im guessing 9th grade is like year nine? If so its pretty cool luckily they dropped SATS in year 9. I noticed we get a lot more homework this year but year 10's are a lot nicer because your not htis little year 7 or 8 person.
In my province we stopped doing Provincial Exams 2 years ago. Now it's just optional.
I see.
Here, we have to do science, english, and math provincials in grade 10. I am in French immersion and I took my science exam in French. The reason this makes a difference is because they are experimenting with E-exams and all French immersion exams have been online so far.
The main complaint about the provincial exams was that they cost too much money. I've heard rumours that they were going to scrap the provincial by next year. But since they've started e-exams, they might not have to scrap them after all.
Some of the questions on the provincial exams are just ludicrous, though.
As for provincials in grade 11/12, we have a Socials exam in grade 11 since that is the last year that we have to take Socials. It is mandatory. However there is a new class called Civics 11 here, and I'm not sure if there's a provincial exam for that. I don't have the privilege of taking it since I am in french immersion and must take the french equivalent of Socials 11.
In grade 12, there is a mandatory English 12 exam. As far as I know, the rest of the grade 12 provincial exams are optional.
I've taken Math 12, and the provincial was optional. The class mark + final exam was worth 60%, and the provincial exam was worth 40%. I decided to take the provincial anyways since I did well enough on the final exam.
Wow I never new there were provincial tests is it just for grade 10 and 12?
Well, in my province (BC) we have them from grade 10-12.
But doesn't it not count towards your grade it is just to see were everyone is in the province how smart the province is.
They count towards your mark like a final exam. They can be worth anything from 20-40% of your total mark. Though, we do have provincial "assessments" in grade 4 and 7 which evaluate numeracy, writing, and something else (I forget >.<
